Hello!
I am developing a stealth driving game happening in the dark of an outdoor night.
Currently, i am working to improve the visual look of night time in the game.
My goal is to make the night time visuals of the game able to provide:- a dark atmosphere (not scary at all)
- an environment ideal for stealth and its hiding threats (which
minimize long distance visibility but keeps close distance clear)
- an understable level design that help player to see where he can go but not revealing every secrets
- a feeling of "is there a risk or a reward far away ?"
- a decent contrast to enemy headlight
- a way to make it not looking flat
If you have any feedback and advice to improve in these ways thanks to share it with me
If you think the visuals works well as they are, please tell me.
Here are different setups of a same view to show the actual visuals of the game.
(all these images are not multiple choices of rendering but multiple rendering that can happen in the game to show you the actual variety of the night time visuals):
