Hello. I've been working on the skin for about a day now, and am seeing myself run into the same issues I usually do when doing skin. Namely, it starts to blend into a mush rather than have discrete areas like skin does. A lot of my reasoning is based on seeing texturing.xyz models. I even have some of those textures, but would like to learn to produce them myself with my own alphas. I'm not opposed to using xyz ones, but I want to understand the logic behind skin detailing before just using a simple solution.
Often times its hard to say whether you're right or wrong given the wide array of skin types in the world, but I suspect I'm off by a good bit.
Do any of you have any particular critiques to give, or any advice based on your own experience in improving skin?
I'm going to redo it tonight but would like some feedback so I don't go doing the same thing AGAIN.
Thank you!
PS. This is my reference
This is not a likeness study, just a loose reference for the skin type I want.
