Advice for a 3D newbie

Starting to improve my portfolio, specifically character art. Trying to challenge myself and create new projects, at least every two weeks.

Critiques and advice would be great .

For your portfolio, are you planning to focus on characters or on game environments? My advice is to focus only on one of these two so that your portfolio can easily convey to employers what role you are seeking.

Thanks man  sorry i didn't see the message sooner. You're  right, i need to specify the field that interests me, which i think is character design I'm gonna try to focus on that

Since you want to pursue character art, I'd suggest picking up a couple of books on anatomy and start doing some anatomy studies. Focus on one part of the body at a time, do a whole bunch of eyes, mouths, ears, noses, arms, torsos. Learning anatomy is pretty much the front runner in importance. It seems like you've got a working grasp on your software so that's a hurdle you've already gotten over.

thanks for the advice, definitely need to step up my anatomy been going to figure drawing sessions and I'll also look up some anatomy books. Appreciate the feedback .
