Unsure where to go from here. I feel like I need more props and add something to the walls and maybe some cobwebs to the rafters? The floor needs some love also. I'm just not sure what to add without making it look too busy. Any and all crits are welcome here.
Hey! There's a bunch of things that need to be done; - Your walls need a skirt that connects it to the floor. - Your potion bottles seem too big and throw off the proportion of the room. I think same with your shelf thickness. Check out the door, and imagine a guy standing in the door, now compare that to the height and size of your counter and everything else in the room: things are giant! - There's also not enough variety with the potions, or enough clutter. It looks like your potions are placed randomly around the room, as if trying to look randomly placed! If you hung stuff like garlic cloves, herbs, mushrooms, etc, along the walls and roof, it would really help things out. What else would a potion shop have? An herb grinder? A wooden spoon? A cauldron? - There are no shadows/AO where the counter meets the floor. - I think the texture of your counter needs to be scaled down, and the shininess reduced. - I would increase the roughness of the floor and barrels. Floor could also be broken up with a welcome mat or something. - Those candles are way too bright! If you could allow some light through the window, and play with the post processing, you wouldn't need the candles cranked so much. Right now, the brightness of the door and candles is drawing my attention more than anything else. Check these out for inspiration;
Maybe the lighting is not baked? Try playing around with Lightmass. Also, Unreal Lighting Academy has a series which teaches you great methods on how to setup lighting for interior scenes. Might be helpful.
Thanks Asher, that all makes sense. I'm also changing the wood material a bit more, it wasn't looking right in this scene. The lighting might be off because I used preview for the screen grabs. I'll watch the videos though gab, I definitely can benefit from them.
