Hey Guys,
I'm hoping someone out there can help me out of a jam.

I've been commissioned to design a 3D cartoon robot character the only issue is I have to develop it in Cinema 4D and I am mostly a Maya artist. I have had a look online and there are not many courses for Rubber hose type characters within Cinema. Basically I would like the ability to squash, stretch and twist the character in any way that I wish. Possibly even warp the facial features of the character for exaggerated expressions. 

Only courses I know of that do this are mostly for Maya. So here are my questions.

Can I easily transpose these Maya courses into Cinema 4D? 
Do I have to use a Cinema tutorial series?
Do you know of any good cartoon character rig courses on the web? Ideally ones that use mesh spines to allow multi joint twist, squash and stretch.
