Solid start. Right now, I think you have opportunity to make the albedo pop more if you're not going to make the materials reflect their real life counterparts. Look into adding gradients and subtle hue and value changes to make the charatcer pop, drawing it all towards the face.
For example, things should generally gradient from top to bottom light to dark, as a guide.
it's good that you experiment with animation! I would suggest to try, and involve more of his body in the breathing idle pose, because right now, the limbs moving separately, without any chest movement that woudl indicate breathing seems kind of robotical, not too life like.. for example, the movement could be like a wave, starting from the hip, elevating it just slightly, then rise the chest a little bit indicating, breathing, which could then move the shoulders up a bit towards the ears, and then slight movement in the arms
