Hi there Polycount! Long time lurker, first time poster here. I am starting a new demo reel and this is the first project for it. Overall I would like to have the following on the new reel: 1 character, 1 vehicle, 1 building exterior ( something medieval ), 1 interior environment (something like an atomic bunker with interesting props that could fit into the fallout universe ), and 2 hero props. Here is the concept from Tipa for the vehicle. It's a very unique take on a bridal carriage and I haven't seen anything like it before.
At the moment I am currently working on the high poly and here are a few ambient occlusion renders of my current progress. Let me know if anything seems off at this point. I'm very open to suggestions on how to improve the model so any feedback at all would be welcome.
I am not sure how I should go about creating the fabric at this point. Anyone have a suggestion, as to how I should approach the problem? Should I just model it in place with ZBrush and then bake that down onto the low resolution? Also, how high should the polycount be for something like this? I was thinking that it should be somewhere betweeen 75k and 125k triangles because of all the cylinders and round shapes. And last question before I crash for the night.... Any ideas for a base? All I can think of is a cobblestone path with some grass and dirt on each side and maybe a tree somewhere in the background.
Thanks for reading!
