Need criticisms to evolve

Hi there folks!

My name is André Biral, I have decided to study art abroad. I will have 2 years to prepare a portfolio and get ready to take a course.

I will use this thread to post some works, WIP, sketches and ideas.

I've stated this project inspired by the game Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. It's not really based on any specific character from that game but it was that game that led me to start this project.

There's still a lot of work to be done. I still have to add hair cards to the model, the eye can use a little improvement and the texturing can use some improvement.

If anybody has any suggestions or criticisms, that will help me a lot. :)

This is looking great so far!

The skin could use some ambient occlusion, to reduce the SSS in tight folds. Especially near the eyes and lips. Eyeballs could use some AO where the eyelids touch.

The leather shoulder covers are looking OK, but the shirt underneath is not reading like fabric yet. A tiled detail map would help. You have the light fuzz on the skin, but the turtleneck fabric needs more detail, maybe also some light fuzz.

Chromatic aberration is also a bit too strong. Maybe you're hiding something? :D

Hey Eric, thank you for the feedback. Your help is really invaluable.

I will fix all the problems and re-post it here.

About the chromatic aberration, I put it at 0.12 on Marmoset camera. i am not sure where I saw this instruction. I was doing a lot of research on internet. My main resource was Marmoset tutorials, and  texturing.xyz, where I also bought the displacement and albedo for the face. But I will reduce the chromatic aberration, I'm still confused about what this actually does.

I can make the file available here, if you have time, maybe will be easier to see my mistakes. I tried to export from Marmoset, but I wasn't able to export with all the textures.

Thank you, and best regards! :)

It may just me but the shirt and leather normals look to be the wrong format (inverted Y). They just look a tiny bit odd near the contours of your character. The only other thing that seems to be jumping out at me is the treatment of where the lids meet the eyeballs. I've seen a bunch of techniques adding wetness and fake AO strips, might be worth a go.

Sculpt looks great, and the peach fuzz is really quite good, definitely curious about the workflow with that.
