TECH ARTIST – UNITY
Are you a creative and technical self-starter who is passionate about games? We want to meet you!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Use Photoshop and 3D tools (3DS or Maya) to build, review and edit objects for use in both 2D and 3D games
Proficient with a wide array of tools and plugins.
Integrate and animate UIs in Unity from concepts and wireframes
Deliver high quality work on-time and within budget
Work with a team in a collaborative SCRUM environment
Author and optimize high-quality assets to be efficient for all target platforms
Create and work with engineers to develop appropriate tech tools, shaders and pipelines to be leveraged by artists
Collaborate with engineers to build features and solve creative technical problems
Assist animators and artists with troubleshooting. Issues may include animation, world building, rigs, shaders and FX
Collaborate with outsourcing managers and artists for the creation and review of assets that meet technical needs set by the tech art team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
5+ years experience working on shipped game titles
Ability to use art tools–both internal and external to Unity–to create beautiful UIs, environments, and visuals
Knowledge of Maya and understanding of Maya’s rigging tools
Possess a solid understanding of animation basics: timing, eases, anticipation, arcs, etc.
Possess a solid understanding of shaders (not necessarily writing shaders, but knowing how to find and use them to achieve a desired effect)
Fast learner who can pick up tools and plugins quickly and research 3rd-party solutions as needed
Possess a solid understanding of modeling for limited-poly, real-time game pipelines
Ability to work with components in Unity (not necessarily to write scripts, but to work with existing component libraries)
Ability and experience in working within technical constraints of game engines and editors
Understanding of platform features and limitations for mobile devices
A desire to grow your skills and experience
Must be available to work full-time at our office in Burbank, CA
Candidates without a portfolio WILL NOT be considered. Please include samples (or links to samples) of your work
PLUSES:
Scripting experience with CG/HLSL, C#
Understanding of hardware rendering pipelines
Strong portfolio demonstrating an ability to work with a broad range of subjects and styles from realistically detailed to stylized
Demo reel that shows off your real-time FX chops (++ if done in Unity)
