Hey, i need your help. I'm creating a landscape for the first time. However, at the moment I have a problem with materials. Can u advise me about them?
3 things come to mind. First, there is a re-topology tool for landscapes you can use to reduce the texture stretching on steep cliffs. https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/Engine/Landscape/Editing/SculptMode/Retopologize But it should only be used when you are done (or close to done) sculpting and painting. Second, the transitions between your materials are too blurry. You can use masks in your landscape material to make the transitions look more natural. https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/Engine/Landscape/Materials It's called "Height Blending", and the description is pretty far down the page, in the Layer Blending section. Third, unless you're planning on doing tessellation, I would suggest placing rock meshes on top of all of your rocky areas. A flat rock texture is never going to look as good as a sculpted rock. Make them fairly high detail, L.O.D. them, and use them to build the cliffs. Make a medium, a large, and a colossal sized one.
