Let me introduce myself. My name is Artem Ridnyy. I am 3D props artist for mobile games in small studio.
But I always wanted to try myself in environme
nt art. I want to something bigger then just a props.
Now I decided to start with a small location so as not to delay the work due to the large scale. I hope with your help I can finish this project and proudly call myself: "Environment Artist"
Let's start:
IDEA
It may seem that my main source of inspiration is the recently released Metro Exodus game. And this is partly true. I really like the setting of Metro and Stalker. Besides, I live in Russia and there are still a lot of references around me. Therefore, I chose the soviet bunker, which is a shelter for survivors, as the object of my work.
In the final, I want to see a dark room equipped for housing where there will be a lot of different props.
To begin with, I gathered a small collection of references, which included concepts and works by other artists, screenshots from the games of the Metro and Wolfenstein series, as well as real photos.
BLOCKOUT
I started my work with blockout. First sketched the overall scene in the 3ds max. The figure of a person to understand the scale. In the shelter will be the main room, bathroom, kitchen and pantry.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The next step is to transfer the entire block to the UE and make the basic lighting setting.
