Monthly Environment Art Challenge Concept Thread: May and June 2019

Moving on into 2019! Welcome to the next voting thread for the year - May and June 2019 ~

To clarify, this thread will be replaced by the official WIP / Challenge thread on Wednesday, May 1st, once the vote count is in and the concepts have been selected. Please wait to post your work there.

Below I've selected a few Environments and Props to get us started. Per community request, each Challenge will offer two environment options and two prop options - 1 hand-painted and 1 realistic / hard surface each. Please feel free to vote for your favorites or add your own selections to this thread. Remember to vote by posting the concept(s), that you would like to see for the next challenge as a reply to the thread.

Even if you aren't participating in the challenge, feel free to vote!

If you aren't satisfied with the concepts provided for this month, feel free to add your own! We are completely open to people posting their own concepts, but keep in mind that the difficulty level has to be that of which can be completed in two months' time for the environment, and one month's time for the prop!

The winning concepts will be chosen on the day of the next monthly challenge.

I like the one in the hard-surface prop category. As for the hard-surface environment, I'll see if I can find something.

Really liking the watchtower and library concepts

+1 for library and watchtower, though the room with a telescope is nice as well... not sure about the ghost in the shell hard surface environment though

edit: also very excited for this to start, I have not been able to join the last one but am very determined to do this and all the following challenges henceforth.

We will have 2 concepts for Props (1 stylized, 1 hardsurface) and we will have 2 concepts for Environments (1 stylized, 1 hardsurface)

I like the Ghost in the Shell environment actually. Its seems a lot lighting and mood dependent, it seems pretty interesting and challenging. The tower is great too though! Can't wait to get started!

Hey, @kadeschui , a little late to the party but I'd say that for environments the 'Watchtower' and 'Little astronomer's room' seem like pretty good choices. For props I like the 'Hammer' but I don't know about the 'Memory Orb' as the hard surface option, but it still seems good anyway, so there's that. Mike Hill himself have some other amazing ones but they all seem way too complex for a side project, so the Memory Orb should be the clear choice. If you're still looking for choices, I'd suggest Klaudio Ladavac as another amazing artist for hard surface props.

Yeah, the Ghost in the Shell concept is really cool. But as a 2 month project, once you've sorted a couple concrete materials and a water shader, it's like 70% branding!?
