Hello friends.
Today I've started on a large interior for Clinton Crumpler's UE4 Modular Environment course.
The scene will be a ballroom / lounge in the aftermath of a 1934 New Years Eve Ball set in urban America. Prohibition was ended December 5th, 1933 so folks would've really needed a drink.
My main ref is the ballroom of the Sheraton Grand Park Lane:
The color scheme and mood I'll be going for is based on a set from the movie Passengers:
Current progress on the blockout:
Wish me luck

Here's some of the assets I've been working on:
My first time making a trim sheet -
And here's how the scene is looking overall. Lots of WIP stuff (especially lighting!)
I modeled it after this couch -
The large folds are really just there to show that its used.
@Ashervisalis thanks dude
See how the cushions have small folds around the edges of them, where piping/seams are?
There are some larger "memory fold" type wrinkles from people sitting on it, but they're very subtle and there's only a few of the. I actually think one aspect of the way crushed velvet ages is pretty tricky to pull off in a material -- specifically, the way it gets rougher in patches like you can see at the top of this chair.
Edit: Also, the mirroring/butterfly-ing of the large wrinkles is really obvious on the sofa -- you probably will want to clean that up!
Enjoy!
