The game company I work for folded recently. Compensation was royalty and commission based, however since the game didn't launch before the doors closed none of us were paid. It was a chancey deal from the start, I know, and I did it mainly to build my portfolio. So here's my question: I'd like to use my work from the game in my portfolio, but I signed an NDA. Since the company is no longer around, and I was never compensated, is it safe to go ahead and show what I made? Maybe use a company watermark to give them credit? My thought is that it's safe to do as long as I'm not using the work to generate revenue or selling it to a third party. Thoughts? I could use some guidance here.
