Hi everyone, I'm gonna create for my final Uni project a game ready character out of this knight sculpt I made. Please any feedback would be very appreciated! Plus I would also need an advice about the retopo of the shoulder piece's spikes: Would you create extrusions from the shoulder piece itself or just model the spikes apart and then locate them on top of the shoulder piece, resulting in two different models one on top of the other (spikes and shoulder)? I think the second option would be much easier and probably cleaner, but I'm not to sure how the bake and rendering can be affected from that.
Hi! Considering how the spikes are connected to the shoulder piece (they are made out of the same piece of metal), I would extrude them from the same geometry. That would give you a cleaner result while baking the normals. Also, remember that triangles are fine for game assets. If I were you, I would abuse triangles for an object like that since it's never going to deform.
