Hi all,
I need some advice please, if this is in the wrong forum please let me know - I need to make a realistic 1:1 scale football (soccer) pitch in Unreal. It needs to look really, really good, as close to photorealistic as possible. I've got a static mesh from an FBX for the surface, and the lines are a separate static mesh. I've got a substance account, but I'm disappointed with the quality of the result I get from the grass materials in the Source library so I tried to make a set of textures in B2M starting with a 2k photo of grass, but it too obviously tiles. I tried micro variation in the material but the grass ended up looking too messy (football pitch grass is perfect!). I'm only a beginner in 3d art in Unreal so I'd be very appreciative if someone could give me some advice please! This is what I'm using for reference, and I'm hoping to get my grass as close as I can:
