OMNOM! is in need of an in-house Maya artist who is eager to learn and grow in the craft of making character and character related art for video games. This is an excellent opportunity for an artist looking to build upon their portfolio in an environment that fosters learning and real world experience on a variety of projects.

Ideal Candidates will have a strong texturing foundation (including traditional hand painting skills), sculpting and the desire to learn the character creation pipeline. Additionally, we are looking for an Artist that specializes in Maya.

The primary duties will entail retopology, UV creation, and the baking of various textures maps. With that said, there will be opportunities to create weapons, armor, and creatures/characters. Candidates should have an exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure, color, detail, and silhouette in regard to modeling and texturing. Our Character Art Apprentice will work closely with members of the character art team to ensure that we maintain a high level of quality throughout the character creation process.

This role is a temporary contract lasting 6 months with the possibility of a full-time position at the end of the apprenticeship. Residents of Austin are preferred but anyone who is authorized to work in the United States can apply. Sorry but this position does not offer relocation.

OMNOM! Is a character art freelance studio founded by game industry veterans Brian Jones (BoBo_the_seal) and Mike Tarwater. Between them, they have worked on an extensive list of projects including such titles as League of Legends, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Battleborn, BattleChasers, Darksiders, Darksiders II, Darksiders III, Titan Quest, Titan Quest - Immortal Throne, and Age of Empires III. They have worked on a wide array of genres including Moba, FPS, RTS, Action Adventure, MMO, and others.

• Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Substance
• Superior eye for color and detail
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction, collaborate productively with others, multitask effectively, and work to meet established deadlines
