The current workflow for working with brushes means that you can't stamp down details unless you create custom brushes at each angle you would want them or this method where you stamp down detail into the displacement map, yet then erase.

This tool seems like it's pretty powerful for doing distant terrain pieces. It'd be great if you could output a mesh from displacement that you could then take into zbrush to decimate for a low poly solution. (tessellation is probably counter to how it works, and would cause poly overdraw). 

I also was running into a bug where the tile would loose my mask. Hopefully that can get sorted. If you guys want my file to see what I'm talking about let me know.
