Hello all.

I'm trying to use a pattern that feeds into the Distance node that feeds into the Edge Detect node so I can control the edge width and roundness. However, often times I run into this problem where the Distance node creates these squiggly borders that Edge Detect will pick up and they are no longer the desired shape. Now, I understand how the Distance node works and I know why it's doing this. My question is how can I correct this? If this combination of nodes will not do the trick can anybody give me the high level version of how to achieve my desired effect?

In this particular example of photos I want the maintain the square-ness of my bricks while also having good control of the edge width/roundness, but the Distance node is warping the borders. Do I just stick to the pattern generator and ditch these nodes? Or are there a couple of extra steps to make this work?
