Hitting a mental wall with my 3D modeling

Hi everyone,

I just have a question and was wondering if anyone has to or had this issue. Lately, I've been feeling like my models are just horrible because I seem to find a ton of mistakes while modeling that ends up taking more time in correcting than me actually getting them done! 
Maybe I'm just not cut out for 3d industry and should stop learning altogether. I don't know. I guess I need a workflow that works for me I just haven't got a clue on one. I was just wondering if anybody has any ideas to help with workflow problems and maybe that's why I keep making mistakes or I've just gotta work harder. Any advice will be helpful at this point, as I feel like I don't have clue on what I'm doing.

When you say a ton of mistakes what do you mean? Because most modeling that happens for games tend to be quick, dirty and cheap. Unless you're making some really nice high-poly modeling etc , we usually take a lot of shortcuts if we can to make things go faster since it won't really be all that obvious to the players.

@chrisradsby, @Zi0, @Brian "Panda" Choi, well, I mean in the vertices part of my modeling. I noticed that when I make a mistake and try to correct it I have a bunch of loose vertices that I have to keep coming back to and correct. This usually happens when I try to work on the high poly version of my model. I'll give examples of it later as I'm at work and can't get to it at this time. And when you mean shortcuts, is there any that you would like to share with me I would love to find ways to improve my production and efficiency speed? Plus I'm really into environment modeling so if anyone knows of some great ways to break down concept art I'd really appreciate! Thanks, guys!

Alright so here is the concept art. I had got so frustrated with it I ended up actually scrapping the whole model and was going to start all over again. Where I was running into so many problems was when I was trying to the little indented areas like I have circled in the concept art. Every time I start to do it I ended up with weird artifacts that I couldn't get rid of. If you guys have any ideas on how I can get this right please let me know! I really would hate to give up on this!

With some of these you can use floating geometry then bake it on low poly. Can you still include your work? It would be easier to say at what level you are and provide appropriate feedback.

And those areas you've highlighted are fairly straightforward to either model using one or any number of well known techniques plus as mentioned generate a non-contigous floating geometry approach as well.

My apologies everyone for not posting the geometry. Have gotten busy with work and well life situations. I hope to add the geometry in the next couple of days. But making it a floating geometry on the low poly is a great idea! (*man should of thought of that*.)

Study wire-frame shots and draw wires over everything. Then study your software and figure out the quickest way to to get X result in the quickest amount of time. Eventually you'll be able to envision a wire over everything thus being able to model anything.  Setup hotkeys and the interface for speed and accuracy

I'd suggest you stop making new models and instead spend a week doing a tutorial on a certain topic.
