I am new to 3D i am not sure what i am doing wrong. When i try bake the high poly from zbrush to the low poly in substance painter it just messes up i think my UV maps are wrong? or the way i have modelled in Maya is not correct? would appreciate the help. Thanks
it looks like you have overlapping uvs. If you want parts of the model to share the same texture area, you need to select the uvs that are overlapped and offset them by one.
