LIttle backstory I have been working on a game I am calling precursor for about 2-3 years now. Defininging universe, systems and story pretty much all the boring documentation stuff. I am just now getting to a point where I can show some art (block outs), I had planned on trying to use my mars station scene but i felt that was to tethered in destiny to use for my game so i have completely redesigned the environment. In this blog i'll post updates whenever i get a chance to work on the art as well as post links to my monthly dev minutes youtube blog talking about the development of the game

Precursor is a story driven First person Sci Fi loot shooter
Games that inspire Precursor are Destiny, Doom, Diablo and Mass Effect
With precursor i want to capture elements of the game i love as well as things that i love about the games industry and combine them into one hopefully fun to play package.
Currently the game has 6 ends that depending on how you play will impact the universe story in later games.
Precursor will be on PC, VR and MR devices (ML1)

It has been a great week so far, making some really exciting progress!!!
I have created the base line for 2 game systems:
The first is my loot system with rarity factored in so this system determines the rarity of the loot and how much loot is spawned when an enemy is killed
you can see it working here
From there the loot system will spawn a weapon that will be procedurally generated, I still need to figure out how to create an inventory system and how to actually use it when its created but the building blocks are there, here is an image from the proof of concept system working
This system has the possibility of spawning 3 items in each slot for a total of 27 combinations.
as you can see each one of these if different so we have a working proof of concept for procedural gun generation in unreal

Last night i finally got my base AI working!
Started laying the groundwork for what will become the AI system for AI that will tend to rush you and lunge at you when close enough.
Now Base AI is in.....I'll either go to make a inventory system and work on picking up weapons or concepting out the enemy that will be using this AI system
