Answered: Bridge UE4 livelink losing installation, not exporting

This seems to be the main place for Quixel support, so I made an account.
Quixel bridge forced me to update the ue4 livelink plug-in or so it seemed, the export icon was greyed out and I got a pop-up asking to update.
So i did.
Now it loses the installation path and tries to reinstall the plug-in every time.
It then seems to work, only for after while to display a completely blank export screen.
Sometimes export comes back, after restarting or whatnot, but needs to reinstall the plug-in, after which export does not seem to work.
I get the message "export successful", but nothing happens in UE4.
This is seriously dysfunctional and makes the link useless to me.
Please help.
