Hi everyone!
I am doing cabin scene for my portfolio. The scene I picked intended to be simple, but turned out much more challenging than I thought and I felt like I need to bring this to the public for feedback, advice and critique. Apparently, isolation is not an answer, so I would deeply appreciate any comments.
I made an attempt to do the lighting in UE4, but the result is still far from satisfying and needs some more research. Now it looks something like this:
The initial idea is taken from combination of these two photos
The grass was modeled manually in 3ds Max. I've created some photo textures, hoping it will make my grass look more realistic, but, unfortunately, my simple draft grass looked undeniebly better, so I kept it for now, until I figure out smarter way to use my photo textures.
Plans for the rest of the week:
1. Texture the house, which is the largest object in the scene.
2. Complete high poly of the bench.
3. Another attempt to do realistic grass, with more detailed texture card this time.
4. Watch at least one lighting tutorial and update the lighting in the scene.
Wish me luck.
