Wouldn't it have made more sense for Adobe to buy Quixel since it uses Photoshop directly?

I'll keep up my license until Adobe inevitably ruins it.  Already hearing about a open source procedural textures in the early phases.

I'm a little curious to see what will happen. I was having this same chat with some co-workers earlier today about it, and I just rambled and mentioned that before Substance Designer and Painter, most of us textured on Photoshop....

So, it makes sense, in a way.

I'll just wait on it. It sounds like a shocker at first, but might make more sense later.
