Hi guys. I have a question regarding the use of texture sets, usually for production how many texture set for a model ? is there a default number or it depends of the importance of the object and how it will appear in the seance ( is there any rule/ rules to help determinant the number ) ? and a more personal question, i'm building my own 3D portfolio right now and i'm modeling a tank and I made 3 texture sets for it, I kinda feel it is not enough but I want to practice my workflow to be a production ready, so do the portfolio in your opinion guys must have a production limitation or should it be free ? and will it affect you application ?

    Hi Nanashi,

Typically for a small prop, one texture set is more than enough. A tank, on the other hand, would benefit from having multiple texture sets. Assuming you would be making a photorealistic tank for a AAA game, you would potentially have a texture set for the body, treads, and the turret. You might even have another texture set for specific parts or modifications (snorkels, additional armor, etc.) depending on the model variant. Hope that helps!

I would say give it that extra for your PF pieces. As long as your workflow/process is sound and you're still adhering to a disciplined approach that shows you have a solid understanding knowledge of what you're doing then all is well.
