Looking for advice on showcasing a model in a portfolio!

Hi guys! I just recently created this model (I know it isn't perfect, but as I'm not super experienced yet I feel pretty proud of it) and I was wondering if anyone had advice on how best to showcase it for a portfolio. The mesh isn't awesome as it is my first blender sculpt model, so to be honest it is a little funky, but nothing too crazy.

Would default lighting be most appropriate? Or would some other lighting setup and/or angle be best? Should I have a shot of the mesh, or would that not be ideal? Should I add a simple texture to the model?

I'm going to keep working on it to try and flesh it out as a character model, but I thought the finished base mesh would be a good thing to add to my portfolio.

 Any replies are appreciated!

Thanks!

Generally there are a few things you would want to do:
    • Work generally looks better on a medium to dark grey. Pure black or white is not recommended
    • Having renders of your model from multiple angles is a good idea, make sure you keep and eye on white space too, you have a lot of black on the sides that could be cropped or have a back/side view
    • Your model looks like it is pure white or close to that so the lighting is blowing it out, I would give it color or make it a little darker.
    • Posed characters are usually more ideal as it looks more interesting, but not required depending on what you're trying to show off.

Don't be afraid to check out some work here or on Artstation to see how other people present their work, it can give you some ideas.
