Hi everyone,
I made a rainy environtment scene for my game, which is still in proof of concept stage. So i decided to post here first and hope to get an initial impression, and maybe get some advice on how to improve it

So i took 3 screenshot from the in-game view, so this pictures represent what it would look like in the game. The first one is a graveyard scene, the second one is a park scene, and the last one is the Main Road.

I never made a rainy environment materials before.. so yeah any advice and critiques are greatly appreciated
I'll post more update about my work soon!

Looks really cool. One idea I have would be to use some fog in the distance to make the background a bit more grey.

I think you should increase the scale of sidewalk and road textures
And play with lighting on the first and second pictures, what do you think?
I agree with everything @Ashervisalis said too.

All the materials and elements of your scene are very divided. I think some material blending and some kind of grime/dust material to overlay and help tie things together may help. Atmosphere, perhaps more depth of field, fog, imperfections like grass growing in the concrete cracks.... just things that come to mind that may help the place feel mroe real.

Seems like a mismatch between value of the skybox and value of the ambient light in the scene. I'm no lighting expert, just a hunch. In any case, if you are using that nice sunset clouds skybox I think you should up the contrast, let those nice colors bleed into your scene and atmosphere more. You know, really set a mood. Probably better to over do it and dial back, than have a drab scene. Can't find a good picture, but the grand theft auto games, even the old ones with awful graphics, had really fantastic mood setting with the over-done mist/fog being blown out by all the different colored city lights, and the wet road picking up those colors as well, and then the warm sunset colors overlaying all of that. Made cruising around on a big chopper, gunning down hookers and pimps at random a real serene experience...

Also, maybe just the angles or something but the benches feel overly large and the cars seem too small. Actually, the scale of the textures seems off as well, in comparison to the human.

Gravestones having more variation would add a lot to that scene.

Yeah, i got the comment on that too from other forums, a lot of em says my sidewalk scale is a bit too big. About the lighting.. i'll try to be more creative in using it, Thx man!

Wow, this is very detailed.. thank you so much man i really appreciate it! I'm a little bit confused about your first advice about the material blending, i'll dig into that a bit more. I'll consider your advices and tweak it a little bit more.. i'll post a new version maybe next week or two.. Again, thanks man!

I agree with @BIGTIMEMASTER about the materials. Dust, sand, dirt is everywhere in the streets, so whenever you havw two materials sticking together like in the Main road scene - there will be a lot of dirt. I think your scene is good in terms of modeling, but it is too clean, add fallen leafs, some trash like cans, paper, dirt areas etc.

Also when it is raining showers, the visibility is limited, the fog is also an option as being sad earlier.

P.S. Your Mercedes Benz CLA tires are a bit stuck in the asphalt

Yeah.. i tried to do material blending this time, and add more variations to the scene so it doesn't look too clean. And also pump up the mood a little bit more. As for the car... yeah, i realized that as i posted the picture :)) lol, thanks for your comment and advice btw, i really appreciated it, will post an update soon!
