Hello, everyone,
I have a quick question regarding a hypothetical situation. I've been working on my portfolio for a while now (my background is in academic art and have decided on using the skills I've learned to pursue character art).
I think I'll be done my portfolio soon, all the job postings I'm seeing from larger companies such as Ubisoft require a minimum of 2 or 3 years for a character artist position.
HYPOTHETICALLY (not saying I do), if an individual had a portfolio with similar quality as a professional such as Frank Tzeng or Raf Grassetti (but with on professional experience), would they still be denied a position with the company solely based on the fact they have no experience?
Thanks in advance!

But its hard to impossible to get that good without working 200 days 8h a year as Character Artist.
A Highend Char needs around 200+ Hours to finsh.
How do you manage to get that "free time" during a normal day job.?
