It took me forever to find the floor plan's that matches the Jupiter 2 Set on the tv show. After watching clips of the show, I think I found the right ones.
Well, finding pics of the original console's....has been hard...so I decided to make the console's my way...I have already completed the Aux Control Station...
It's not stupid, it's just knowledge you don't have yet.
Fortunately, you're on as website that's all about how to put art INTO video games.
Unreal and Unity are game engines. Game engines are what games like LEGO Dimensions use to be built, renderend, and operated. Think of it like a writing framework.
Unreal and Unity engine aree free to download and use for personal use. It's also one of the two largest engines that a lot of the game industry uses to make your favorite games
I do want to thank you for your help and info...it means a lot...but honestly I am just a low-grade artist, never being good....just a piece of trash in life and that's my place. But thank you again.
You're going to have a heck of a terrible time trying to juice the most out of 3Dsmax's out of the box renderer. If you want to continue struggling with it, you can do that. But easier, more powerful solutions lie elsewhere.
You're probably over thinking how easy it is to add lights and assets into a scene in Unreal. If you can navigate Max, you can navigate UNreal. Don't talk yourself out of it.
It's the difference between trying to hit a 100 yard target with a nerf gun vs. a bb gun.
Yea, BB guns are more expensive and harder to operate.
But what's going to do it more easily?
Time to stop playing with nerf guns.
As Eminem has once said in "Lose Yourself"
"Look If you had One shot Or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted In one moment Would you capture it Or just let it slip? . . .
Why are we doing this self deprecation thing again? You didn't have this attitude when you did your Youtube videos; it's the similar deal. Just put in the effort.
Why are you creating this? I assume it's to get better at it. @Brian "Panda" Choi is giving you advice and encouragement that I would LOVE to get and you're just dismissing it?
I make stuff that is trash compared to other artists here, but I've taught myself the basics of Unreal Engine (enough to import my assets and make a nice render), I've learned Substance Painter, I taught myself Max and am now learning how to use Blender. Do you know why? Because I love this shit and I hang on the SLIGHTEST chance that I might one day get paid to do it. I just gotta work for it.

You do too. Keep at it.
Sorry...and both of you are right...I just get really depressed at times, not sure why...I just do. It's just that, sometimes my brain is hard to understand certain things. I'll be posting some of my renders of the Hollow Moon Satellite.

I'm curious if you've any plans to make the robot later, it's an iconic retro robot design and would be awesome to see as part of the scene~~
Actually.....I was thinking about that as well..and I decided I will....might be fun and easier than the ship.

Download it. Get on it. Learn how it can do a lot more for achieving your vision.
You're going to have to understand and learn about post processing volumes, light maps, baking light maps, LODs, etc.

Next, instead of doing the upper level, I'll be doing the Hollow Moon Theory...hope it works out.
Do you have Global Illumination on, Screenspace AO, etc. int he renderer?
Otherwise, you've got something that's around a Toy Story 1 era fidelity instead of Incredibles 2.
You should look into the previous years' posts of environment art. There's a wealth of information there you can learn from.
