Hi - not sure if this should be in Technical or Unreal forums, so mods sorry if I got it wrong! But I think this applies to technical in general.
I have a few mesh huts that I made for a forest village I’m creating. About 5 different huts total. I currently have them each as a single mesh that I’m importing into UE4 (so 5 meshes total). Would it make more sense to split each mesh into sections for culling/lightmap reasons? So maybe split each mesh into 3 sections but still export them each as 1 single FBX?
so just to be clear:
hut 1 (3 sections, 1 single exported FBX)
hut 2 (3 sections, 1 single exported FBX)
etc.
I would have gone a more modular approach, but I decided to just make 5 unique huts since they are pretty complex and would have been way more difficult to make them modular pieces.
