SpeedTree Missing Geometry

Hi there,

I exported a tree from SpeedTree using the Export to UE4 function, but when I opened it in Unreal there was geometry missing on the tree (as you can see in the picture).

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
I'm not sure why it's seemingly disappearing.

Thanks for any help in advance!

no missing geometry there. Just different lighting environment. Turn on wireframe, you'll see.

Nah it really is gone, span it around, zoomed in... it looks almost like the tree trunk is going over the top of the cavity.
It slightly bulges out where the cavity should be but there's nothing there, the texture isn't there either.

It's happening with these cavities and also with the knots I've added too, they just seem to disappear.

check your textures. compare them. check your wireframes. compare them. Is there really a difference? If there is, double and triple check you are outputting what you want to the right place.

Use the scientific method. Isolate the variables.

A SpeedTree admin has logged it, so I'm guessing there's a little bug.

For the moment, setting the trunk material from Masked to Opaque fixes the issue - as in as soon as I change that setting the geometry pops back haha.

The mesh with no materials applied has all the correct geometry, but the trunk texture (I'm guessing) is kind of wrapping itself around the cavity and making it 'vanish'. A tad bizarre but at least there's a workaround!
