Need some help about Xgen error

Hello, now I’m working on Xgen for making realistic hair. Now I have a problem with painting mask in Xgen. I can’t paint any color on the surface of hair scalp with 3D paint tool.

I’ve been researching some solution for this issue, but it doesn’t work for me. Mostly Xgen error came from namespace ,material,UVs, freeze transform and delete history like that kind of basic setting. I double checked my scene and complete the basic setting. It still doesn’t work. I created a basic sphere in the same scene and replaced the original hair scalp mesh. It works fine. I was able to paint color with mask. I have no idea. Plz give me some advice. thanks

have you tried updating maya? The current version is Maya 2018.4.

After updating re create your scene from scratch to see if the problem is gone.

Do you have UV maps created for the scalp? Xgen needs UVs. Check the mesh, if theres any ngons or stuff like that, manifolded mesh, maybe?
