Hi! Today my old Logitech G500 is failing me... It was the best mouse I found ergonomically for me. I'm wondering if it's worth to the upgrade to a new mouse, something you can recommend, or just buy the same G500?
Haha thats weird, the exact same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Most comfy mouse for me too, had it for years ... went into denial and kept the poor thing alive as long as I could, but had to put it down in the end.
I couldn’t easily find a replacement G500 without paying over the odds, plumped for a Logitech MX Master 2S in the end. Probably not quite as comfortable for me, but very precise and highly customisable
This is my home mouse. At work, I already changed so many mouses and never found anything nice for me. All of them after a while give me wrist pain. Hmm.. maybe the 402 Logitech seems similar?
There is an adjustment period to get used to the vertical mice, in case you weren't aware. It may take a week or more of feeling awkward and inaccurate with it before it becomes second nature. Such was the case for me anyway -- I guess I use my fingers a lot rather than move my whole arm like they say you ought to.
I've tried a similar mouse and also some of the roller ball styles, but ultimately stuck with the g502 and make other changes to my work habits to mitigate hand/wrist fatigue.
I bought a CSL vertical mouse ( german brand ) from Amazon some time ago and it is the best decision that i ever made. Before that i used a Razer DeathAdder Chroma that after only 1 year broke ( shitty brand ) and it also gives me wrist pain, than i used a normal Logitech mouse but after 30 min. it gaves me wrist pain so i decided to buy a vertical mouse...and it is like a gift from heaven, i can work for many hours and when i finish i always have the wrist perfectly rested.
I don't have it but from what i read the specs are the same ( 5 buttons, dpi settings 1000 or 1600 ), the size is the same and also the general shape seems the same.
If you still look for a G500 replacement, i replaced mine with a G400s which is pretty similar, but already EOL'd too and only available totally overpriced. So i use the G400s at home and G403 at work, the G403 being pretty similar and a great mouse ( love the fabric cord cover ) . Buttonclicks are more sensitive on the G403, but you'll get accustomed to it pretty quick Overall G403 is a great mouse
After using for a while this Anker, it's nice, but it feels too bulky and doesn't give you that precision you need when modeling. I've tried the G403 @spacefrog in a store, but... G500 is G500 Maybe the G400s is similar, in Amazon you can still get for about 50£, maybe I'll give it a try.
I particularly like my vertical mouse; Though If I could go back in time I wouldn't buy this brand or buy it wireless because it has a huge disconnect problem. Let me know how you enjoy the one Poly suggested @Prophet I might have to grab it.
It's not bad @Mr.Moose, the problem is that it feels that it has some delay when you move the move, so I can't really be that precise with it. For me it's important, even using things like Photoshop, when making a selection, and I want it to be exactly there, and not wasting extra 1sec trying to put it well because the mouse doesn't give me the precision I need. But maybe I just got too used to the G500...

Is it maybe a mouse speed thing or for sure just not detecting/maybe going into an idle state too fast? Weirrrd that its such a delay.. That would definitely bug me
I don't think it's going into idle. Best way to describe it it's like that feeling that you are running your mouse on ice... keeps sliding... don't know how to describe it better

It's because with a vertical mouse you are using your forearm to move it instead of the wrist, because of that you will feel clunky and slower at the beginning, it gave me the same feeling when I first bought my CSL mouse.
For normal stuff like browsing internet, office etc I get used to it after only 1 or 2 days, for gaming around 1 week but for 3d art it took me 2 weeks to regain my speed and precision but now I wouldn't buy any mouse that is not a vertical one.

I've noticed that some wireless mice have that momentary delay when you start moving them, for that reason I personally always use wired mice (but I know a lot of people much prefer wireless that's why I linked the wireless model). Considering the wrist pain you've mentioned before though I would say to not give up on vertical mice too quickly as they might end up really saving you from a lot of pain in the long run even if they're tough to get used to.
Been using a Logitech Performance MX for years, now, and with the proper wrist support (mouse pad with gel bump) I've never had any ergonomical problems.
Furthermore it's wireless but also somehow wired. It comes with a USB cable you can plug into the front of the mouse (like for an actual cabled model) that recharges the battery on the go, while you're still working with it. Never had any delay with the cursor's movement and it's quite precise.

This is what i bought but i read that you already ordered one: https://www.amazon.it/CSL-verticale-ergonomico-previene-individuazione/dp/B00HNAQA72/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541932204&sr=8-1&keywords=csl+vertical+mouse
I couldn't find it on Amazon.com so i linked the one from Amazon.it just for who are curios.
@Prophet - What mouse is that which is similar ?
