Anatomystudie - please help

Hi guys,

can you help me take this anatomystudy to the next level? I´ve been on it for quite sometime and I feel like I can´t properly judge it anymore. It really love to hear what you are thinking about it and how to improve the sculpt. For instance:

What´s your first impression?

Where are the weak points of it?

Which shapes work and which don´t?

What about overall proportions?

What do you think about the pose?

Why did you pick such weak pose . hes leading with his thighs ?

Its a good start with some minor/major tweaks it can look great

What have you use for a reference ?

Hmm, good point. I started out with a T-pose and made a quick pose, because it looked awfuly stiff. I didn´t really use much reference for the pose though... The leading with the hips thing was meant to give him a more heroic expression, but I see how this doesn´t work without proper refs...

What tweaks do you have in mind?

Question for reference was about muscles in specific , what did you use fore muscle references

Tweaks :

Major one :

Pose -> torso to legs relation and legs rhythm  [correct o shape legs]

Proportion -> upper arm look short and not wide enough + I will add more rib cage volume

Minor:

Individual muscle that are not exactly as they should like origin to insertion problem or volume -> like quadriceps for example sartorius and so on

Ok looks like you have everything you need

In the beginning of Pack's book there are really nice drawing of heroic male pose you can use that or check proper body alignment or if you want classic hero pose some of comics heroes or bodybuilder posing exercise

Its not much of change really just mask the torso and rotate it forward also will probably need to push it forward too or if you want to keep this guy as main ref his belly is most forward point which changes the pose significantly

After you pick a good pose for your character in front view drop pectoralis major lower and add more volume to the rib cage so you have hourglass shape with top half bigger then the lower

Pose front and side view no prospective and side view no arms to check proportion something look off right now

Update: Tried to fix the pose and reviewed a lot of the anatomy

Lots of improvements here , Id say side view looks the weakest so hide the arm and work on that

Check marking I did on your sculpt and reference and compare relations [first image from left]

Hey, so I pushed it further and polypainted it.

Good progress but you have to keep working on it especially back and lower legs .You have most muscle in place but some need volume or  form modifications .Back is way too flat use move brush to push sides forward and create some roundness to the back
