Answered: Megascans Issue

Hello all,

I was just testing out some foliage assets from Megascans but when I imported them they looked like this:



I've tried fiddling with some settings but I couldn't get anything to change the way they looked...
I tried 2 different projects, and one of them the colour was more pronounced - but I literally did the same things in each project so I don't know what happened there.
Do they need a Metallic setting maybe? I noticed they don't seem to have one.

If anyone has any ideas I'd very much appreciate it!

Ahh... I might see the issue - I don't have one set up. These are just direct imports via the LiveLink so maybe I should set up a new Material and that may solve the problem.
(First time importing foliage into UE so I'm pretty clueless!)

Hey Chris !

This is due to the lack of an translucency map, i believe. Basically that shader was made to operate with one and your asset doesn't seem to have one. Surprisingly, this specific fern is the one and only asset in the entire library that has issues with it's transparency, if you try with any other 3d plant i'm sure it'll work just fine.
