I need some help or advice...I recently got messaged by someone on deviant art asking if it would be okay to buy one of my artwork of an Oni mask with a dragon wrapped around it for an esports Team he is trying to start up and the design would be their logo...How should I proceed because I've never had anyone ask to buy my artwork especially for an esports logo.
Cool design, not surprised you'd attracted interest. So here's a basic formula similar to when I worked as a portraitist come street artist way back when. Now important to remember when calculating the cost of a piece is by paying yourself a reasonable rate, on top of adding the cost of materials and that becomes your asking price:
For example if say materials cost $20 and 15 hours too produce, pay yourself an hourly rate of $20 = $315
Anyway just a rough estimate in how to price your work.
Cheers.
EDIT: For digital the same applies, except materials (...obviously I had my analogue hat on : ) ) can be calculated as tertiary costs such as plugins/brush tools/paid tutorials...etc.

We have more info here about how much to charge, how to write an invoice, how to get paid, etc.
