mastering the wacom

Since using the Wacom my level of drawing has slipped. Is copying pictures of cartoon characters a good way to build up skill of using the Wacom?

Using wacom is just different from pen and paper due to the disconnect that comes from moving your hand in a different place from where you are looking. This take time to get used to. Wacom felt really awkward to me at first too. Also helps to have a decent sized wacom.
