Rajavihara is a temple built by Khmer King Jayavarman VII back in 12th and early 13th century in Angkor, Cambodia. Today’s generation call it Ta Prohm,
After the fall of the Khmer Empire in the 15th century, the temple of Ta Prohm was abandoned and neglected for centuries, when the effort to conserve and restore the temples of Angkor began in the early 21st century,
We all know how powerful our Mother Nature is, Today Mother nature has conquered Ta Prohm, the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples. UNESCO inscribed Temple of Angkor into the world heritage list in 1992.
As of 2013, Archaeological Survey of India has restored most parts of the temple complex some of which have been constructed from scratch. Wooden walkways, platforms and roped railings have been put in place around the site to protect the monument from further damages due to the large tourist inflow.
When nature conquer what our ancestors build, we restore it!

Project Rajavihara is a 100% CGI product, the project was mainly focused to build mood and curiosity of Ta Prohm hence the visual is not 100% matched to the real temple.

How Project Rajavihara evolved: Back in 2007 when I was a budding artist, this temple image was assigned to me as assignment, olden days with no access to internet, no information on this image, led me to questions Where is this place, what is it called,, etc?

Computers which were unable to handle high dense mesh and no advance tools to create textures led to my first ever render back in 2007
Today with powerful CPU, GPU advance tools such as 3ds Max, Substance, corona, aftereffects, etc.
Access to information, reference, textures via google, pintrest, youtube, etc
and Online render farms “Rebus Farm”, let us see how far we can improve using the present technologies and tools, pushing the limits to pull out this project out in 15 days!
