Hi,
I'm in the process of creating game hair, I havent had much experience in creating game hair and understand that it takes time.
I am using Tom Parkers great tutorial on creating hair for games, really helped alot!
What I need help with is that there is gaps in my characters head, in which you can see the skull underneath.
What is a good way to remedy that? Just add more hair planes to cover it? add a hair cap underneath? or paint a texture on the characters head a darker colour or something?
I also dont have transfer attributes for vertex normals as I am using 3DS Max, but not sure what it does exactly either. Hair is currently 4,600 tris
Thanks!

At first glance it looks like your specularity is too spread, making the hair appear metalic. Havent used Max for a while but mess with the spec curve in the material. Im using Blender atm and this tool:
The guy doesnt use a hair cap but the tool randomizes the uvs and he appears to be damn good at being able to suggest volume.
That looks good,I havent used Blender myself or heard of that tool. What am going to maybe do is just paint the texture on the head a darker colour, maybe add a few more hair planes here and there and soft selection to puff it out if need be.
