Oh yes sorry, in 3DO is there an option to render with a transparent background, saving out as a png but it also saves the background not just the mesh which is what I'm trying to get, a render with just the mesh no background.

There is no transparent rendering function in 3DO. You would need to use a tool like Marmoset Toolbag in order to produce that kind of image without manual editing.
