(Full Time) Technical Artist - Vancouver, BC
THE OPPORTUNITY:
JumpStart is looking for a technical artist to join our Vancouver team. In this position, you’ll be working with artists and solving technical issues that arises with asset integration. You will also be working tightly with developers and creating pipeline and tools for the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the go-to person between artists and engineers
- Contribute to troubleshooting problems with the art team
- Create, maintain and improve art tools, pipelines and asset integration
- Mentor artists in the chosen methods and tools of production and best practices
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to develop scripts and tools for artists to optimize their workflow
- Familiarity with project directory structures, naming conventions, source control and best practices
- Advanced knowledge of Unity
- Expert proficiency with Maya and MEL
- Demonstrate ability to rig and paint weights for characters
- Experience with Maya and Unity as key pieces of software in production
- Experience creating and optimizing content pipelines
- Understanding of performance and optimization requirements and experience with profiling content costs
- Knowledge of mobile shader authoring
