Hey, just a quick question - is there much difference between 2016 and 2018? Apart from Arnold and the bugs in 2018, is everything pretty much in the same place as 2016... or have max adopted maya's approach and put things in odd places?
2018.4 is a pretty good release. Biggest difference is the QT UI, and Arnold like you said. Auto Peel is a great addition for Unwrapping, and Motion Paths are great for animation. I had a lot of crashing issues with 2016, so 2018 is better IMO.
Max 2018 also exposes the Slate material editor to maxscript (took AD long enough...), which opens up a bunch of new possibilities when scripting material related functions.
