How to make ribbon simulation?

Hello!
I have a question. 
I need to make a shot like NBA final ribbons flying to the ground.
I am doing this with Xparticles Trail to be my ribbon.
But when my particle collide on floor, it seems strange.Nothing like ribbon. Like snake.
Because Trail generate by Particle Path , so my ribbon shape will always follow Particles path not like a real ribbon.
How do I fix this ?
Or is there another way to do this ribbon simulation?

I think Xparticle can do that but i dont know how.
