Hi I am currently a student trying to break into game industry . Recently started doing shader for character and got confused with how skin and eye get their color by SSS .
I understand how light get scattered within a translucent object , making it's color warmer depending on the surface density . I know how certain material behave in this way , mostly from wiki .
But I wonder if someone can enlighten me how it work practically ( not something vague like how it scatter light without explaining how it affects different part of the object ) . For example would be we have highlight , core shadow etc when shading an object and how it actually form .
Next , I wonder if all translucent object has SSS behave the sameway or certain material get catgorized differently ?
Thank-you!
