Mismatching image planes? (sculpting)

How do you work with image planes that do not line up right? This is causing me to make adjustments to match one orthographic view, only to decrease the accuracy from the other orthographic view. (Making my sculpt accurate to one view decreases the accuracy from the other view) How do you get around this? Thank you.

Photographs aren't orthographic, and there's no guarantee that a top/bottom image doesn't have any skewing, there will never be a 1:1 relationship as a result. At some point you'll have to break away from working off the photos directly. If you really want to hone in for accuracy, I'd suggest marking landmark points for measurement and start thinking about features near to those landmarks in terms of angle and distance.

How can you make accurate landmark points if the images are skewed?

You'll have to make do with eyeballing where the skews are and start triangulating positions based on other landmarks between the views. TBH I've never done any hardcore measurement-based modeling; at best I've made a few quick measurements and worked from there.

Just use your artists eye the best you can, or consider working from a physical piece that you can measure, or do a 3d scan.

If you move the camera further from your subject, and use zoom, this will reduce the distortion. The further you go, and the stronger the zoom, the better.
