I have to disagree with @CybranM , dirt/grime on a real space station isn't a great idea, you could follow the example set by the late Paul Pepera and add some more humanistic elements to it, like cloth.
@PeterK There is wear in the image you linked though. Thats what I'm referring to, the scene looks too clinical at the moment (in my opinion of course). Adding some variation to the secular maps and such could add greatly to the realism of the materials.
@CybranM Ah yea, that kinda stuff is fine, for some reason I imagined a mess. Been seeing over-damaged/dirty stuff lately and it's probably put an impression on my mind. Yea, good advice to add a tab bit of variation on the surfaces, but definitely keep it light.
