This is my current progress on a Forest scene that I've been working on for the Vegetation and Plants for Games, CGMA course with Jeremy Huxley. I have a few things I want to get into the scene in the next week, Robot head is a placeholder still - but C&C welcome!
I'm confused about the stylization here. The head looks smooth and cartoonish, very reminicent of The Iron Giant. The rest of the assets are far more detailed and real looking.
@FreneticPonies Ya the Head is still just placeholder. I'm hoping to get that done this week, or maybe next, but it should match the rest of the scene when its all done. Thanks
Given the focal point of the whole environment, I find it ineffective with the foreground being lit that hard compared to the robot head. I would, if only relatively, make sure that the light around or from the robot head is harsh and strong to lead the eyes to there.
Hey Brian I can't reply to you because you have spaces in your name and it just doesn't work... But thanks, ya I kind of tried to do that in my latest update with red light on the ground leading there. Maybe still too subtle.... the head itself may need to be brighter...
What an odd, neat art style it's ended up as. The closer in shots reveal a kind of, advanced Borderlands esque stuff? I rather hope this is something like what Borderlands 3 will end up as, cause it looks neat!
