Such a bummer, the post says its just a matter of time he doesn't have to maintain, would have totally backed it with a monthly patreon or something like that. There was someone in these forums that was making a game dev job search too, anyone remember the name of it?

Patreon for hosting fees and then outsource the maintenance work to some people that want to help. There shouldn't be much maintenance for a scraper website, updating links and xpaths.
While I typically used gamedevmap to manually visit each studio's page and apply in the past - I'm not sure what Orca did in particular that people liked as to say.. using indeed.com
Looking at the wayback archive it seemed to be an aggregator as well - were there any features that people liked? In the past I had thought about creating a few scripts to scrape and upload jobs similar to https://gamedevjobs.io/ or gameguzzler ( but larger in scope) The only thing that hired or indeed don't have are relevant search criteria (like seniority level, intern ships, studio size, past shipped titles etc) and wouldn't be against resuming that if there was a need.
@fmnoor Orca had a huge list of salaries which was very helpful for estimating how much to ask or expect. At least that's what I used it for. So sad it's down. Just found the news while discussing the subject with a friend.

I believe you are referring to https://gamedevjobs.io/ or this thread.
I wish I knew about Orca sooner, it sounds like its been pretty helpful to a lot of people. Sad to hear its going.
Contacted the site owner, suggested some options.
