its been a few years since  I last used substance painter, is it still the same where-by I can't combine on one baked map several materials?

if so, that has to be the most stupidest thing ever.

its the same with generating baked normal maps from a High poly model, etc, it will not produce 1 for the entire uv map, instead it will produce one for each material. Even Substance Designer isn't this dumb

please tell me Im wrong and there is a way.

(i dont use photoshop or anything like that.)

Painter translate materials to texture sets, if you want to assign different ''painter'' materials to one mesh you can use an id mask.

yeah, i worked out that id mask thing yesterday, but how comes you can't just bake a load of them on to one UV without ids etc? why?????

I'm struggling to understand what the problem is here to be honest.

What exactly are you trying to achieve that requires multiple exported texture sets on the same UVs?

More to the point,  how exactly are you planning to use them?

well, in Blender if bake a texture, a high poly on to a low poly etc, I can have several different normal textures from several different materials all on one map in a single bake, I dont end up with 16 png files. just one, why cant SD or SP do that too?

I am like poopipe, I am not sure to understand what you want to achieve but if you put just one material on your lowpoly object before exporting to substance painter, you will ends up with only one texture set,and only one bake to do.
